CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Sintel. Please consult your doctor.
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
Sintel may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Sintel is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
UNSAFE
Sintel may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Sintel is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Sintel may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
CAUTION
Sintel should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Sintel may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Inform your doctor if you develop signs of jaundice like yellowing of eyes and skin, itching, and clay colored stools while taking this medicine.
Medical Overview
Introduction
Sintel is an antiparasitic medicine, used for the treatment of parasitic worm infections. It works by killing the worms that cause infections and stops the infection from spreading. Sintel should be used in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Take it with or without food, preferably at a fixed time. Avoid skipping any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose. Simply take the next dose as planned. Some people may experience vomiting, dizziness, increased liver enzymes, nausea and loss of appetite as the side effects of this medicine. Please consult your doctor if these side effects persist for a longer duration. You may be monitored with blood tests and liver function tests throughout your treatment.

How Sintel works
Sintel is an antiparasitic medication. It works by keeping the worms from absorbing sugar (glucose), thereby depleting their energy level. This causes the worms to die and treats your infection.
Quick Tips
  • You have been prescribed Sintel to treat a variety of parasitic worm infections.
  • It can be harmful to an unborn baby. Do not take it during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Use birth control measures to prevent pregnancy while taking Sintel.
  • Your doctor may monitor your blood counts and liver function before you start taking this medicine and regularly throughout your treatment.
  • Avoid being near people who are sick or have infections. Inform your doctor if you develop signs of infection.
  • Do not skip doses and finish the prescribed course, even if you start to feel better. Stopping it early may increase your risk of further infection.
